Disciplines. CDI's Naval Engineering and Design expertise extends from Nuclear
Aircraft Carriers, Surface Combatants, Amphibious Assault Ships, Auxiliary Support
Ships, Submarines, Special Mission Ships, to Small Boats, Watercraft and Marine
Literage and Platforms. CDI has over 30 years experience in developing various
engineering and design support documentation, including Level I, Level II and Level

CDI brings extensive experience and expertise in the design of new ships, small
boats and marine watercraft, and has supported the detail design for LHAs, LHDs,
LPD-17 Class, DDG-51 Class, CG-47 Class, and a number of boats and craft,
including JMLS, AAAV, a 49-foot landing craft, a 65-foot landing craft, a 8-Meter
RIB Law Enforcement craft, a 110-foot crew/supply boat for the National Park Service,
a 97-foot Research vessel, and a 62-foot fisheries research vessel. CDI also offers
vast capability and expertise in support of ship modernization, alteration and conversion
of the U.S. Navy, U. S. Coast Guard, Military Sealift Command and NOAA ships and boats.
CDI has supported numerous U.S. Navy ship modernization and alterations for virtually
every ship class in support of both Public and Private Planning Yards. CDI has supported
major ship conversions, mid-life upgrades, major maintenance availabilities, service-life
extension programs, fleet modernization and replacement programs, and enhanced quality of
life programs. CDI also works with the Naval Warfare Centers in support systems acquisition
engineering and in-service engineering requirements.
